What is SPISMUN?
SPISMUN aims to educate young people about the United Nations and contemporary issues. We started our journey back in 2001 and since 2005 have been accredited by the International Model of United Nations Association (IMUNA), a non- profit organization and partner of the United Nations that promotes education through simulations around the world.
This valuable program develops academic and cultural knowledge, social and leadership skills. During the Model event, participants represent a member state of a Committee of the United Nations. Delegates debate, discuss, negotiate, and together create peaceful resolutions that address real world conflicts.
SPISMUN has received local, national, and international guest speakers who have inspired our delegates; some of them included current Nuevo Leon State Governor Samuel García; former professional football soccer player Guillermo Franco; Mexican representative of UNDOC Javier Díaz; award-winning speaker from New York Raphael Gordon Raghor who has been considered one of the most dynamics orators of this generation. We have also had the honor of welcoming ambassadors and other importa nt figures from UNICEF to our Model.
